Black Lives Matter

BLACK LIVES MATTER. That statement is something that has been fought over for centuries and it's time to end this fight once and for all and understand that BLACK LIVES MATTER. It's unbelievably awful to me that people's lives are compromised and treated completely differently just because of the color of their skin. I know I will never understand the fear and pain and what it's like to be treated differently because of the color of my skin but I stand with you and will fight for you. George Floyd was a man who was killed by 4 white police officers, two were on top of his body holding him down even while he was in handcuffs, one kneeling on his neck and another stopping people from helping George Floyd. These officers were on top of him for 9 minutes. In those 9 minutes George Floyd was saying “I can’t breathe”, “Mama”, and “Please” because the officer was kneeling on his neck with his hand in his pocket as if he's just passing time. In those final 3 minutes, George Floyd wasn’t moving and no longer had a pulse. Instead of trying to resuscitate him or getting off of him they stayed on top of him until there was no chance of bringing him back to life. The officers remained on top of him even when paramedics were at the scene trying to treat him. George Floyd was arrested because he was accused of using a counterfeit $20 bill. However the officer who was on George’s neck, his wife, once wrote a bad check. With counterfeit money you can have no idea it's counterfeit and someone could have given it to you but with a check that is their own personal fault. A daughter lost their father, a mother and father lost their son, a man lost his brother and many lost their friend because of the color of George Floyd's skin.
However this isn’t a new problem, and it's not as if something like this has never happened before, this racism and police brutality has been going on for centuries. This is a battle that we keep on fighting and will always fight until there is no more white privilege and only equality for all. Too many innocent African American people have died just because of the color of their skin. Racism is not only in violence, it's all over society in many more ways than one and that needs to come to an end. Right now, we are living in strange times. I encourage everyone to peacefully protest but however I do know we are in a global pandemic. So if you don’t go to protests then sign petitions and spread your opinions on social media. Be loud on your opinion because silence won't get us anywhere. If you are being silent and not helping fight this problem then you are the problem. Help end this fight instead of sitting around being silent. Use your voice and NEVER be quiet on your opinions. Fight for justice and equality for all, fight for love, because we are one race, it's called the Human Race.
